COMPETITION

Congrats to Paul Hutton for winning the
R200 000 golden ticket prize!!

Background to the competition

The Link Literacy Project touches the lives of about 800 children in 11 schools through the donation of time by about 400 volunteers on a weekly basis.

Although time is the most important and valuable resource it requires, the Project also needs monetary backing to fund daily operations. At its current size, around R350 000 is required to run the project for a year. A further upfront R80 000 plus R10 000 annually is required to open a new center.

Sourcing this funding is no easy task, however, as donor fatigue is a very real side-effect of the unrelenting competing social demands in South Africa which, when combined with the local and global economic headwinds, negatively impacts our ability and propensity to donate to good causes.

In order to combat this challenge, The Link Trust embarked on an innovative competition to raise funds while offering donors the chance to win a significant cash prize.
