FORDSBURG
Fordsburg Primary School was first opened in 1954, but rebuilt and re-opened in 1990.
The school has 1155 learners and 34 teachers. There are an average of 40 learners per class. These learners come from surrounding areas in Fordsburg, Soweto and Johannesburg Central. Most of the learners come from disadvantaged backgrounds and speak a wide variety of languages at home.
The Link @Fordsburg Primary assists Grade 2 learners with literacy and was opened in 2018. We have a classroom at the school for our literacy project and we work one on one with the learners. We would love to work with more learners but this is not possible at present due to a shortage of volunteers.

Travelling West along Empire Road, turn left into Owl Street and then left into Annet Road.
Follow Annet Road until you reach a T-junction. Turn right into Seventeenth Street.
At the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Subway Street. At the next set of lights turn right onto Mint Road.
Go through 2 sets of lights then turn right into Barney Simon Road. Continue along the road and the school gates are directly ahead where Barney Simon Road meets Park Drive.
There is safe parking on the school premises. Entrance is off Park Drive.
