Nokuphila

Nokuphila School, a project of the Love Trust, is based in President Park which borders on Thembisa. The school was founded in 2009 with the vision to nurture future generations of servant leaders through the delivery of Christian based education to vulnerable children in disadvantaged communities.

The school serves 300 children from Grade 000 to Grade 8 with the vision of increasing by grade each year, to provide the opportunity for children to go to Grade 12.
For many of these children spoken English is only ever heard in the classroom!

We currently have 25 volunteers and we work with 33 learners in Grade 2. The ideal situation is to have a ratio of one volunteer to one child. This year we started working 2 mornings a week giving more children the opportunity to benefit from the program, which means we have almost achieved our 1:1 ratio of volunteers to learners.

The centre offers Literacy support and 2024 saw the opening of our Numeracy Centre which runs alongside our Literacy Centre at the same time.
