RIVERSANDS

Riversands Primary School This used to be known as a “farm school” and is situated just a few kilometres from the new residential development, Steyn City. Most of the learners come from Diepsloot and walk 3kms to school daily. Many come from Zimbabwe and Malawi and English is their second language.

We work with 62 of the 120 Grade 2 pupils for two 35 minute sessions on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. We would love to work with the learners one on one but this is not possible at present, due to a shortage of volunteers.

We have recently been donated a dedicated classroom for our literacy project.

Corner Mnandi Road and the R511 (ext of William Nicol) From Fourways Mall head North along the R511 towards Diepsloot. After the Indaba Hotel and the back of Dainfern, head over the Jukskei passing Douw Steyn’s, Steyn City on your left. Carry on for approximately 3 kilometres. At the top of the hill, take the Mnandi turnoff to your right. The school is on the right hand side.
